George Junior Republic is Hiring a Therapeutic Coach Near Washington, PA

About George Junior Republic:

Founded in 1909, George Junior Republic is dedicated to helping at-risk youth become successful, well-adjusted adults, capable of achieving a higher degree of citizenship and a better understanding of his responsibility to society, family and self. Preventative Aftercare, a GJR Affiliate corporation, provides community-based services in Pennsylvania and Ohio to both adults, children, and families. 

Summary of the position: The Parenting Inside Out (PIO)/Therapeutic Coach will work therapeutically with incarcerated parents under the clinical direction of the Regional Director and will maintain best practice standards. The PIO Coach will provide multiple group counseling sessions per week in the jail using the evidence-based Parenting Inside Out curriculum.

Hours of Work: 8 hours per day. Employee’s hours are considered non-traditional based on referring agency, jail, and client needs; however, the work week is considered full time (40 hours per week). The PIO Coach may work 4 evenings per week to meet the needs of the incarcerated parents (up to 7:30pm/8pm).

Deliver Comprehensive Services

  • Provide group counseling in the jail to incarcerated parents in compliance with all specific county and program requirements. It is the responsibility of the employee to know all the program and county standards for the particular service they are providing.
  • Provide these services under the clinical direction of the Regional Director.
  • Evaluate client’s behavioral health condition based on review of client information and completion of needs assessment.
  • Develop and implement Individual Service Plans (ISP) in collaboration with Regional Director and based on needs assessment, clinical experience and knowledge.
  • Meet or exceed clinical productivity targets.
  • Utilize evidence-based practice of Parenting Inside Out (PIO) curriculum in collaboration with Regional Director.
  • Complete questionnaires for pre- and post-treatment for PIO per program design.
  • Include scores and clinical interpretation of pre- and post-treatment questionnaires in the ISP.

Collaboration 

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with county OCYF and jail staff.
  • Attend all court hearings, case reviews or staffing(s) as necessary.

Documentation and Records Management

  • Document all client, group, and collaborative contacts within 24 business hours through service notes in the client electronic health record.
  • Complete initial Individual Service Plans (ISP) within 30 days of first intake session and monthly thereafter, as well as any other specific written or verbal information requested by referring agency or supervisor, meeting all deadlines.
  • Maintain client electronic health records ensuring that all required documentation is in accordance with applicable standards and regulations at all times.
  • Obtain client/caregiver signature on the Encounter Form at time of service for every session.
  • Scan/upload all paper or PDF client records into the electronic health record within 24 business hours of collection of the document.
  • Maintain all client data, outcomes and follow-up information accurately and update as required.

Crisis Support

  • Provide Safety and Crisis Plans for all clients
  • Coordinate crisis support with the Regional Director

Admissions

  • Complete Consent to Treat and Releases of Information at first intake session. Begin Smartcare Assessment and complete within 14 days of first intake session.

Compliance

  • Ensure that all client records, correspondence and conversations regarding clients remain confidential as required by HIPAA compliance mandates.
  • Comply with all Mandated Reporting, Duty to Warn and Duty to Protect Laws in all clinical work.
  • Prepare for and participate in scheduled Quality Assurance Reviews of client electronic health records.
  • Complete Satisfaction and Outcomes questionnaires

Coordination of Treatment

  • Maintain regular contact with Regional Director, returning all calls and e-mails in a timely manner and being available for regularly scheduled clinical supervision.
  • Attend and actively participate in all scheduled professional trainings, including training on implementation of evidence-based treatment models.
  • Be available to OCYF, jail staff, and PAC support staff co-workers via cell phone and return all calls within a timely manner.
  • Monitor all electronic communications throughout the day and respond accordingly. Ensure electronic communications reflect days off with instructions on who to contact in your absence.
  • Send all email correspondence with client Protected Health Information (PHI) via secure email (in the subject line).

Professionalism

  • Apply cultural sensitivity in clinical and professional work, including regular participation in the development of cultural awareness.
